South African Human Rights Commission Report on Road Closures/Boom Gate Communities

The Report was generated in 2004 wherein the Commission evaluates and cites the Constitution and Bill of Rights concerns.  The specific Rights they identified and evaluated are as follows:

  • The right to equality
  • The right to human dignity
  • The right to life
  • The right to freedom and security of the person
  • The right to privacy
  • Political rights
  • Freedom of movement and residence
  • Freedom of trade, occupation and profession
  • Limitation of rights

Even though this Report is old - the Constitution and Bill of Rights haven't changed and the South African Human Rights Commission is a powerful authority in the land.
